For the love of Food and Coffee
My Story
I’d love to share a little from my heart with you. Even if you were a teensy bit interested in what life is like in Tastefully Simple, keep reading.
For my entire life prior to finding Tastefully Simple I believed I was the pickiest eater on Earth. Food was not something I really enjoyed. I ate to survive. I didn’t know how to cook, more about that in a little bit. Growing up if my mom made certain meals she would always make me something else – those meals included pot roast and meatloaf. I called pot roast stringy meat 🤣
Fast forward to college – It was rush week and I was so nervous because I knew part of the “hazing” included eating white castle burgers. I couldn’t and wouldn’t eat them and thankfully it was not forced upon me. I didn’t grow up on fast food and the only thing I ate that was fast food in college was a vanilla milkshake and french fries. To this day, I have never eaten a Big Mac or a Whopper.
In December of 2002 I was working at a Restaurant Supply company and this woman walked in to buy the biggest cutting board we offered for her husband. I will never forget the story. She stated her husband hunted deer and she no longer wanted him to bring the carcass into the kitchen to clean so she wanted a cutting board for him to do it elsewhere. She then started talking about Tastefully Simple. I was intrigued and decided to host my own party. Remember, I don’t like food and I don’t really know how to cook.
When I say I don’t really know how to cook, I was that girl that measured out 6 cups of water to make boxed Macaroni and Cheese. I know now…that you just have to fill up the pot – no need to measure. 🤣🤣 I truly believe I didn’t care about cooking because I didn’t like to eat and I didn’t like to eat because I was such a plain jane person – no seasoning – who does that?
After the party, after trying most of the products, I told the consultant that I wanted to join. If I liked the food I tried everyone would like these products. Its consumable and everyone eats. On January 29, 2003, I filled out the contract and faxed it in to HQ. In the first 12 days I held 6 party’s. I worked the business very part time and on August 23, 2003 I was hired as a corrections officer for the state of CT. ( more about those 20 years in future blogs)
February 14,2020 aka known as Valentine’s Day and my husband and I are sitting across from our tax guy getting our taxes done. How romantic! 🥰
I logged into my back office and discovered I had a new consultant on my team; and that was the beginning of me working my business full time. COVID happened and Tastefully Simple as a company thrived. My team went from 19 on February 13th to over 70 by June 30th. I double promoted and I learned as I went on how to lead this daily growing team. We rebranded from the Shining Stars to the Sassy Bees.
I earned a trip to Playa Del Carmen which was later cancelled due to COVID. In 2021 I earned a trip for myself and a guest to Playa Del Carmen. In 2022 I earned a trip to Cancun for myself and a guest and in 2023 I earned a trip to Disney for myself and a guest. There was no trip to earn the following year.
Direct Sales has taken some major hits since COVID. Many companies have closed and many have changed their model from Direct Sales to Affiliate Marketing. On January 1, 2025, Tastefully Simple became the first ever company to switch to a hybrid affiliate marketing company. We are now called Ambassadors and 42 of us were invited to continue to grow our teams.
I also became an ambassador with Java Momma Coffee in January. I love this coffee. The flavors are prominent. No bitter taste. Java Momma also has teas, hot chocolates, some seasonings, syrups, snacks, mugs and more.
Affiliate Marketing is a great way to make some extra money. First, if you have a passion, see if there is an affiliate company that is inline with that passion. If you love food or coffee, we should chat. You can contact me via phone at 860.614.8180 or email at Beeblessed95@yahoo.com
